Enlarging Vocabulary Through Greek Word Elements

English contains a substantial and growing number of words derived from Greek. Some of these words are general words in everyday use,e.g.authentic,chronological,economical,homogeneous,etc

:for example

CHRON,CHRONO: Time   "chronological": arranged in order of time

PED: Child    "pediatrician": physician specializing in the treatment of babies and children

ONYM, ONOMATO: Name, word    "anonymous": nameless

THERM, THERMO: Heat    "thermal": pertaining to heat
